The partner organisations directly involved in the project actions come from 10 different countries covering a wide geographical spread: Poland, Austria, Germany, Estonia, Spain, Greece, Turkey, UK, France, Hungary. They are different types of educational institutions: six are universities, two are higher education institutions, one is a secondary school, there is one company and one organization involved in producing educational materials for disadvantaged learners. The expertise of the key staff members involved in the project ranges from developing educational materials for general language purposes or specifically for teaching medical English, using IT tools for developing innovative language materials, linguistic expertise, evaluating learning materials, exam designing, teaching experience and working professionally in the field of therapy,

 

The quality of the project consortium ensured a commendable choice of the methodology, contents and technical solutions for designing, developing and implementing the joint curriculum and course materials for learning English in the field of therapy.

 

Development of the exam module served as a reference point for measuring and documenting transferable competences and capabilities in the subject area based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

 

The participation of the educators and professionals from different countries facilitated developing educational materials, preparing learners for meeting the demands of the European labour market. The cross boarder experience enhanced the European intercultural consciousness and multi-cultural understanding.



Mobility of the staff members participating in the project resulted in strengthening international cooperation among educational institutions at a scientific level and the exchange of expertise in various areas related to designing educational materials including technological transfer.

Apart from the partner organisations, which constitute the consortium of the project, some other institutions were involved in the project actions and contributed to the development of the course materials. Some of the cooperating institutions include: hospitals, rehabilitation centres, universities teaching English to therapists, a school of massage for visually impaired learners and a yoga school.
